Erich J. Windhab, ETH, Switzerland
Dr. Erich J. Windhab is a Full Professor in Food Process Engineering at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zürich (ETH), Switzerland. He got his education in Chemical Engineering and his PhD in the field, at the University of Karlsruhe, Germany. Professor Windhab is a fellow of the European Academy of Sciences, who also awarded him the prestigious “Blaise Pascal Medal” in 2004. His most recent award received in 2014 is the ASABE (American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineering) - Int. Food Process Engineering Award. E. Windhab is also fellow of the International Academy of Food Science and Technology and has published more than 280 peer reviewed journal articles, 20 book chapters and more than 70 patents. In his research he primarily addresses Process-Structure-Property relationships, thus connecting Process Engineering and Material Sciences.
