Hosahalli RamaswamyDr. Hosahalli Ramaswamy is a Professor of Food Processing at McGill University, Montreal, Canada During the 25 years at McGill University, he has established a very strong research program in several areas of postharvest technology and food processing: thermal processing (conventional canning, agitation processing, microwave processing), aseptic processing, ohmic heating, high pressure processing, computer simulation and modeling, and use of artificial neural network for process calculation, characterization, kinetics, optimization and control. Dr Ramaswamy has been active in food process engineering research and has has published over 300 papers in refereed scientific journals and he has been an invited keynote speaker at several of the international conferences. Dr. Ramaswamy has been a professional member of several food science and engineering societies: CIFST (Canada); IFT (USA); ASABE (USA); SCBE (Canada), IFPTS (USA); AFST (India). Dr. Ramaswamy is serving as an Editor of Journal of Food Engineering and as editorial board member of several international journals. Dr. Ramaswamy has been conferred several prestigious awards in recognition of his outstanding professional contributions tin the filed of food science and food process engineering: W.J. Eva & President's Award of the CIFST, John Clark Award by CSBE (Canada), Marvin Tung Award (IFTPS), and is a Fellow of CIFST, AFST, CSBE and IUFoST. He is the current Secretary of IAEF2011-2015 and Conference Co-Chair of ICEF-12 to be held in Quebec City in 2015.
